HAYTAP ANIMAL RIGHTS FEDERATION IN TURKEY
Animal rights organizations all around Turkey are united under the roof of Animal Rights Federation with the aim of spreading and establishing the concept of “The Right To Live” for all living beings. Working actively since 2006, the FEDERATION, with its 13 member NGO’S and 50 representatives in different cities, have been working both on legal and civil platforms for the right of all creatures to live.
HAYTAP Animal Rights Federation’s mission is to raise the public awareness regarding animal rights and ecological balance according to fundamental principles and values of civilized societies; also to create projects and programs to set the interests and resources of individuals and public/private organizations in motion about animal rights.
FEDERATION works for animal rights to be considered by law and public conscience.and thus defends animals who cannot express themselves and defends their rights to be accepted as ethical and legal subjects as human beings, believes in this long term goal of animals to be represented in the legal platform accordingly with relevant legislation and penal code.
As per the philosophy of the ANIMAL RIGHTS FEDERATION; human beings are not the masters of the world; but one species with an equal right to live with all the other species in the world.

Following this philosophy, we create projects about animal rights and ecological balance for different socioeconomic profiles to raise consciousness. We organize and direct potential individuals, institutions and organizations about the benefits they can provide for animal rights. To do this, we work with lawyers, academics, veterinarians, volunteers; also raise measurable consciousness & awareness about animal rights by conceiving campaigns and communication workouts with animal rights supporters. Our pilot regions are selected accordingly to be well matched with the content of the plot and the project, like poor animal shelters, streets where we spend most of our lives and anywhere with need of raising consciousness like primary schools, high schools, universities, institutions and organizations. FEDERATION organizes social commitment campaigns which aim to raise consciousness and create awareness of public about animal rights, also participates in various organizations such as festivals with booths to provide information, arranges seminars for students at primary & high schools and universities, and attends panel discussions and conferences related with its field.
The federation has special work-groups within its body, such as; Experimentation and Fur Facts, Pet Shop Facts, Hunting Facts, Zoo Facts, Show Animals Facts, Field and Shelters Active Support groups.
As the famous leader and philosopher Mahatma Gandhi said, “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated... The more helpless a creature, the more a man is liable to save it from the cruelty of man”
HAYTAP ON WORLD ANIMAL DAY
This year, on the World Animal Day, our protest “Who’s My Murderer?” will focus on our demand to change the Animal Protection Law in Turkey and center on putting pressure on the authorities, like municipalities and ministries.
To be able to emphasize our anouncement, we shall embrace all captive and suffering species in the air, on land and in water… From birds to dolphins…
Our protests will usually support this theme visually with a press release read spontaneously from the sky, in the sea and on land with a group of people performing on the side with theatrical performances and percussions.
Different celebrities, NGO’s and groups shall support and participate in our event like DOĞA DERNEĞİ, BUĞDAY DERNEĞİ, etc…
WHO IS MY MURDERER?
IN THE AIR – ON LAND – IN THE WATER…
THE MURDERER IS AMONG US!
(OUR PURPOSE)
We dedicate our protest to the freedom of all living species in the air, on land and in water, which are tortured, exploited and captured by mankind.
We urge the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Health and the local authorities to do their duties!
We gather together to remind the officials that they “have to” protect nature and the animals of which we hold responsible for “also by laws and regulations”, and to eliminate the unlawfulness totally within this process.
We demand the article no. 5199, known as the Animal Protection Law, to be changed immediately. We do not want violence and torture towards animals to be passed over lightly in return for just a small amount of pecuniary money!
We, volunteers, demand that “all kinds of mistreatment against animals to be accepted as crime “within the penal code” and the suspects commiting violence to be judged in courts, receiving the necessary sentences.”
he violence directed to the weakest link in the society will eventually be directed to us all.
We cannot throw the responsibility off by closing our eyes, by saying “human rights come first”.
Because any torture done to animals is and should be considered as an issue of human rights and ethics.
Therefore our question is: Would Turkey reach the desired level of civilization if the defense mechanisms for animals do not properly function?
October 4th World Animal Day… (PRESS RELEASE)
Thousands of animals of different species all over the world,
are tortured by mankind, victimized for sadistic pleasures,
captured, “sold”, “thrown away” …
“Human being” still takes it as his/her right to loot nature…
Dolphins and other sea mammals share the same destiny with the exotic fish bundled in aquariums: All are taken away from their homes and turned into “toys” in small pools…
Many wild animals of unique beauty are skinned alive for their fur…
Whales become supplies to cosmetics sector; the seas are painted in blood…
The hunter, trying to prove his “manhood”, kills thousands of wild animals while calling it a “sport”…
Thousands of animals of different species suffer in laboratories behind closed doors in ways that are impossible to imagine, for the sake of controversial experiments. They are not even allowed to die…
For our “entertainment”, thousands of animals of different species brought from the other side of the world, are “exhibited” in cages; and some of them are forced to buffonery under mobile tents…
As we “modernize” and build metropolises, thousands of unclaimed cats and dogs are murdered with poison, raped, tortured; only because they were “born”…
YES, THE WORLD IS NOT A FAIR PLACE FOR SOME PEOPLE…
YET IT IS NOT FAIR AT ALL FOR ANIMALS!
THE MURDERER IS AMONG US!
DO NOT KEEP SILENT TO PERSECUTION, SUPPORT OUR PROTEST!
