ANKARA - With the protocol signed between the Animal Rights Federation (HAYTAP) and the District National Education Directorate of Cankaya, the students will be trained on “Animal Rights and Affection”. Before the protocol ceremony, students wearing a variety of animal costumes tried to explain animal rights and affection by holding banners in their hands.
The protocol was signed for giving education about “Animal Rights and Affection” at schools in the district of Çankaya. Burhan Kayatürk, AK Parti Deputy of Ankara, attended to the ceremony as well, which was held in the meeting room of District National Education Directorate.
ANIMALS TO PERCEIVE LOVE THE QUICKEST
Prior to the protocol some students tried to explain animal rights and affection for animals by holding banners in their hands. “Protect Stray Animals”, “They have the right to live, too!”, “Scout loves and protects the animals”, “Animals, our most docile friends”, “Animals are beautiful, loving them is more beautiful”, “Animals are the quickest organisms to perceive love”, “Let’s protect the animals and enhance our love” were among the banners which caught attention. Doğa Koleji Kindergarten students made a short show for the audience in a variety of animal costumes that is also watched by the parents with interest and received great applause.
COMPETITIONS TO BE HELD ON ANIMAL RIGHTS
In his speech before the signing ceremony, Haluk Saylan, the District National Education Director of Cankaya, touched upon the importance of teaching children the notion of affection for animals during childhood, and said that crucial roles fell to parents of students and teachers in that regard. Saylan said “We are against murdering and torturing animals as well as making capital out of them. Within the scope of the protocol, a student and teacher from each school will be trained by the authorities of HAYTAP. Our students will share what they learn with his friends, teachers and families. Furthermore, we will organize interscholastic painting, essay and poetry contests in this regard for better understanding of animal rights and affection.
WHO DOESN’T LOVE ANIMALS IS UNABLE TO LOVE PEOPLE, TOO
Deputy Burhan Kayatürk who spoke at the ceremony stated that he felt such a great pleasure to participate in the meeting and said: “We can live well only with love. One who doesn’t love animals is unable to love people, too. In this respect, I congratulate the District National Education Directorate of Cankaya and HAYTAP authorities for the very good job they did. The education aspect of this issue is crucial. I believe affection for animals should be taught at pre-school age. I have 5 year old triplets. Once upon a time, they used to wave hands as soon as they saw a dog and say “Stop, let me see my friend!”. What I’m trying to say is that with time we – intentionally or unintentionally- took them away from their friends. Later on, they started to get afraid of their voices and ask us for help. Only then we understood that we had caused a mistake.”
On the other hand, in his speech the President of HAYTAP Att. Ahmet Kemal Şenpolat emphasized that as a federation their objective was to protect the most vulnerable point of the society: animals. “We want animal rights to be protected. We live with animals in the world we struggle for survival together. At wars, we carried bullets on their back. We benefit from their power and carry our loads. But when we are done, we leave them to death. When we go cold on our pets, we leave them to the streets or to the wild. Do not leave them starving in any adverse weather condition. We want the rights of animals that are the weakest link of the society to be protected.” Şenpolat said. (Doğan News Agency)
